Why people use Connect personally

A translator for phone calls made from your desktop

Connect translates calls routed through compatible desktop softphones, browser dialers, and communication apps. It does not directly modify an ordinary mobile carrier call.

Family and friends

Use a compatible desktop call app to speak with people abroad while Connect routes translated audio into the conversation.

Everyday appointments

Use Connect for scheduling, routine administration, travel, and general information. Bring a qualified interpreter into high-stakes medical, immigration, or legal conversations.

Voice and tone preservation

Connect is designed to carry characteristics of your voice and delivery into the translated output instead of using a generic reading voice.

Family video call
Some conversations are too important to lose
Your words carry love, urgency, precision.
Don't let language water them down.

Built for personal conversations

Every feature that makes communication feel human.

These aren't business tools. Each one was designed so that personal conversations — the ones that matter most — feel natural across any language.

Smart Interruption

When another speaker cuts in, Smart Interruption is designed to stop the active translated output and reduce overlapping audio.

Voice Matching

Every speaker gets a voice that matches who they are — men sound male, women sound female. The person on the other end hears a natural voice, not a mismatched AI.

Context-Aware Accuracy

Add names, places, or appointment-specific vocabulary before your call so the translation model has relevant context.

Speaker Labeling

On family group calls, Connect identifies and labels each person's voice. Follow every part of the conversation — even when everyone's talking at once.

Pronunciation Dictionary

Define preferred pronunciations for names, places, and personal terms you expect to use during the call.

Encrypted in transit

Microphone audio is sent over an encrypted connection to cloud AI providers for real-time processing and is not retained by Connect. See the data-handling disclosure.

How it works

How to translate a phone call

Set up Connect on your computer, then make the call through a compatible desktop tool that allows microphone selection.

1

Select the call languages

Choose the source and target languages. Add an optional context note for names or conversation-specific terms.

2

Set Connect as your microphone

In your softphone, browser dialer, Zoom, Meet, Teams, or compatible desktop call app, choose "Connect Virtual Mic" as the microphone.

3

Place the call from that desktop tool

Speak normally. Connect sends the translated output through the selected audio route; the other caller answers without installing Connect.

How Connect routes translated audio

Connect receives your microphone audio, uses cloud AI providers to process and translate it in real time, then exposes the result through Connect Virtual Mic to the desktop call tool you selected.

Does the other person need Connect?

No. Connect runs on your computer and sends translated audio through the call tool. The other caller answers normally and installs nothing.

Stay close across 40+ languages

Talk to family abroad, handle appointments, or make friends while traveling — speak into your mic and Connect translates live, in 40+ languages.

Desktop routing, not carrier routing

Connect works where the desktop calling tool lets you choose a microphone. It does not intercept or translate a normal cellular call placed directly from an iPhone or Android phone.

Person on a video call at home
Zero setup for the other person

They just pick up.
You handle the language.

Connect routes your translated voice through your existing calling app. They hear you naturally — no download, no friction, no confusion on their end.

Calls supported

Which types of phone calls are supported?

Phone calls versus Zoom, Meet, and WhatsApp: the interface is different, but the deciding factor is the same—the desktop tool must allow you to select Connect Virtual Mic.

Softphones and browser dialers

Use Connect with compatible VoIP softphones and browser-based phone systems when their desktop audio settings allow microphone selection.

Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams

These are internet meetings rather than carrier calls, but the routing is similar: select Connect Virtual Mic in the meeting's audio settings.

WhatsApp and communication apps

Use the compatible desktop or web version and select Connect's microphone route. A call placed directly from the mobile app is not routed through Connect.

AI or human interpreter?

Limitations for emergency, medical, immigration, and legal calls

Connect is intended for everyday conversations. Do not rely on AI phone call translation as the only language-access method for emergencies or decisions that affect medical care, immigration status, or legal rights.

Use Connect

Calls with family and friends, travel planning, routine scheduling, general information, and other everyday conversations through compatible desktop call tools.

Keep a human

Emergency calls, medical diagnosis or consent, immigration proceedings, legal advice, court matters, and any decision where a qualified interpreter protects safety or rights.

Run a hybrid workflow

Use Connect for low-risk preparation or follow-up, then request a qualified interpreter when the conversation becomes urgent, regulated, contested, or consequential.
