How Connect works with RingCentral

Connect installs a virtual microphone and speaker on your computer. Inside RingCentral's audio settings, you select Connect Mic as your microphone and Connect Speaker as your speaker. Everything you say gets translated in real time and delivered in the target language — the other person hears you in their language with no setup required on their side.

Setup — 3 steps

  1. Download and open Connect. Press CONNECT-ON to activate.
  2. In the RingCentral app, open Settings (gear icon) → Audio. Set Microphone to Connect Mic and Speaker to Connect Speaker.
  3. Choose your source and target language in Connect, then start your call.

What the other person experiences

Nothing changes on their side. They join the RingCentral call as usual and hear your translated voice directly — no plugin, no invite, no account required.

Key features on RingCentral calls

  • Under 500 ms latency — translation feels natural, not robotic.
  • Voice preservation — your tone, rhythm and emotion carry through.
  • Bidirectional mode — translate both sides of the conversation simultaneously.
  • Speaker labeling — keep track of who said what in group RingCentral calls.
  • 40+ languages — switch language pair at any point during the call.

Tips for RingCentral specifically

  • RingCentral applies audio processing by default. In Settings → Audio, disable noise reduction / echo cancellation for best results with Connect.
  • Use How I Sound? in Connect before the call to hear exactly what others will hear.
  • If you use RingCentral in a browser, select Connect Mic and Connect Speaker in the browser's permission prompt when joining a call.
