Browser extension
Connect Audio Router
Select Connect Mic and Connect Speaker for compatible browser calls, web apps and media — without changing your operating system's global audio settings.
Route browser audio through Connect
Connect Audio Router is designed for the Connect desktop app. It detects Connect Mic and Connect Speaker, then helps compatible browser calling and media websites use those devices.
Connect desktop is required
Install and start Connect before applying browser routing so the extension can find the virtual microphone and speaker.
How it works
- Install and start the Connect desktop app.
- Install Connect Audio Router from the Chrome Web Store.
- Open a compatible calling or media website.
- Select Connect Mic and Connect Speaker, then click Apply routing.
- If a call already controls the microphone, reload the page or rejoin the call.
What the extension can do
Preferred microphone
Select Connect Mic for future compatible browser microphone requests.
Browser audio output
Route compatible HTML media and Web Audio output through Connect Speaker.
Apply per website
Apply your chosen routing to the website currently open in your browser.
Remember devices
Keep preferred device names locally for compatible websites.
Device availability
Quickly see whether Connect Mic and Connect Speaker are available.
No global changes
Change browser devices without modifying system-wide audio settings.
Privacy by design
Connect Audio Router does not record, listen to, store or transmit conversation audio. Device names and routing preferences are stored locally in your browser. Website access is used only to apply the audio routing you select.
Browser limitations
- Routing depends on the browser APIs supported by each website.
- Chrome internal pages cannot be modified.
- Some active calls need to be reloaded or rejoined after changing the microphone.
- Output routing is available only where the website and browser support compatible audio APIs.
