Connect for Phone Calls
Translate your phone and softphone calls live with Connect. Whether it's a browser dialer, a VoIP softphone or a call routed through your computer, speak your language and be heard in theirs — under 500 ms.
How Connect works with Phone Calls
Connect adds a virtual microphone and speaker to your computer. Any calling app that runs through it — a softphone like Aircall, RingCentral or a browser dialer — can send its audio through Connect Mic. Your speech is translated in real time and delivered down the line in the target language, so the person on the other end hears you in theirs on an ordinary phone.
Setup — 3 steps
- Download and open Connect, then open your softphone or browser dialer.
- Set the dialer's microphone to Connect Mic and its speaker to Connect Speaker (in the app's audio settings or your system sound settings).
- Press CONNECT-ON, pick your languages, and place the call. For advanced voice settings, see the usage guide.
What the other person experiences
They pick up a normal phone call and hear your translated voice — no app, no smartphone feature, no setup. This is what makes Connect work for support lines, sales calls and international suppliers who are simply on a regular phone.
Tips for Phone Calls
- Works best with softphones and browser dialers that let you pick an audio device.
- Enable Bidirectional mode to translate the caller's replies back to you.
- Use a wired headset to keep latency and echo low on long calls.
- For contact centres, speaker labeling helps track who said what.
Frequently asked questions
Can I translate a phone call in real time?
Yes. When your dialer's audio is routed through Connect, your voice is translated live and the person on the other end hears you in their language on a normal phone.
Does the caller need any app?
No. They stay on an ordinary phone call and simply hear your translated voice.
Which softphones work with Connect?
Any softphone or browser dialer that lets you select the microphone and speaker — including RingCentral, Aircall and similar tools.
